Yet, for a long time, sailboat decks remained predominantly male. Fortunately, a new generation of female sailors \u2013 supported by ambitious and unifying projects \u2013 is taking the helm to change things. Offshore racing, dinghy sailing, training, or mentorship: many initiatives today contribute to giving visibility to women at sea, and creating pathways for their talent to fully express itself.   <\/p>\n\n<p>At <strong>SAILIZ<\/strong>, we want to celebrate these movements that are advancing diversity in the world of sailing.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:26px\">\ud83c\udf0a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ffvoile.fr\/ffv\/web\/services\/voile_feminine.asp\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ffvoile.fr\/ffv\/web\/services\/voile_feminine.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WLS (Women Leading &amp; Sailing): A Network for All Women<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<p>Optimizing and developing access to sailing for all female audiences, from the youngest age, whether for leisure, competition, or even high-level practice, is one of the objectives of the women&#8217;s commission of the French Sailing Federation. Thus, the idea for the Women Leading and Sailing concept was born, a simple concept represented by the three letters W L S with its emblematic flag! <\/p>\n\n<p>This WLS concept aims to bring together all women&#8217;s projects, regardless of their origins (local, national) or their level (events, competition, coaching, training, refereeing, high-level, etc.), in order to have a flag of recognition under which all actions can be grouped, identified beyond borders.<\/p>\n\n<p>These actions are diverse and target different audiences, but all meet the dual objective of the FFVoile&#8217;s feminization plan: Develop women&#8217;s sailing practice and involve more women in the governance and organization of practices.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Women, WLS\" class=\"wp-image-3525\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile-595xh.jpg 595w, https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/sailiz.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/equipe_de_voile.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:26px\">\ud83c\udf00<a href=\"https:\/\/voilesetvoiliers.ouest-france.fr\/course-au-large\/interview-viser-le-podium-les-deferlantes-la-premiere-ecurie-feminine-de-course-au-large-7a52b366-9dc6-11ef-84c9-4bebe8d0c332\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/voilesetvoiliers.ouest-france.fr\/course-au-large\/interview-viser-le-podium-les-deferlantes-la-premiere-ecurie-feminine-de-course-au-large-7a52b366-9dc6-11ef-84c9-4bebe8d0c332\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Les D\u00e9ferlantes Sailing Team: Breaking the Mold on the Water<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<p>Launched in 2023, <strong>Les D\u00e9ferlantes Sailing Team<\/strong> is an all-female offshore racing team committed to promoting the place of women in sailing. Their motto: performance, knowledge transfer, and solidarity. With an ambitious project on the Mini 6.50 and Class40 circuits and beyond, they prove that women have their rightful place on the most prestigious courses. Beyond competition, their adventure is a true showcase to inspire younger generations to believe in their potential.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:26px\">\ud83d\udcab<a href=\"https:\/\/themagentaproject.org\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/themagentaproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> The Magenta Project: The International Benchmark<\/a><\/h3>\n\n<p>Born in the wake of the historic participation of the all-female Team SCA crew in the Volvo Ocean Race, <strong>The Magenta Project<\/strong> works to create more opportunities for women in professional sailing. Their mentorship programs, training, and global advocacy make them a major agent of change. <\/p>\n\n<p>Their motto? <em>If you can\u2019t see it, you can\u2019t be it<\/em>. Whether on the pontoons, in design offices, or in the cockpits, UpWind takes concrete action to evolve practices. The talent is there. Initiatives are multiplying. But for equality to become a reality, we must continue to give visibility to these projects, support female sailors, and believe in diverse role models. Whether in Mini, Imoca, 420, or on more accessible boats, every woman who comes aboard counts.    <\/p>\n\n<p>And at <strong>SAILIZ<\/strong>, we will continue to highlight these journeys, give a voice to offshore adventurers, and show that sailing \u2013 like the wind \u2013 belongs to everyone.<\/p>\n\n<p>\ud83d\udcac Do you have a story to tell?
