Sailing at Glénans, many female sailors have been there! We are very happy to welcome Sabrina to our team, who will be able to give us feedback on our products while using them as a future sailing instructor.
Can you tell us how and where you started sailing?
I started sailing quite late, during my engineering studies in Lyon. On a lake, I participated in my first regattas and organized cruises in the Mediterranean, which quickly made me fall in love with sailing. After that, I sailed a lot in the West Indies, where I was truly able to deepen my passion. But it was by discovering the
Can you tell us about your current projects and what drives your daily life at Glénans?
Currently, I’m fully living my passion by preparing for my BPJEPS at Glénans, between Concarneau and Bonifacio. I teach sailing in Bonifacio, which is a true source of inspiration for me. This has allowed me to sail in Italy, exploring Sicily, Sardinia, and even the Amalfi Coast. Light sailing, especially kite and wingfoil, is also part of my daily life. Every day, the sea pushes me to live intensely and share this passion that drives me.
How did the SAILIZ GIRL adventure start for you?
The SAILIZ GIRL adventure started a bit by chance for me. I responded to a questionnaire on Facebook about the development of equipment for female sailors, a topic that particularly resonated with me. Before that, I had struggled to find equipment adapted to my size that met all the criteria: well-cut, technical, and eco-responsible. Not finding what I was looking for, I found the SAILIZ GIRL project truly innovative and promising. That’s how I decided to get involved in this exciting initiative.
A 100% female brand of technical sailing equipment, what does that inspire in you?

The idea of a 100% female brand for technical sailing equipment is both inspiring and necessary. In 2024, women are increasingly taking their place in fields once dominated by men, and sailing is no exception. Such a brand shows that it’s possible to create products that specifically meet the needs of women, taking into account their body shape and the challenges they face at sea. This contributes to inclusivity and strengthens female representation in water sports.
The place of women in sailing and the slogan #YESGIRLSCANSAIL, what do you think about it today in 2024?
The slogan #YESGIRLSCANSAIL is powerful and continues to be relevant. It reminds us that women have their place in sailing and can excel in navigation just as much as their male counterparts. This type of message is crucial for encouraging young girls and women to get started, pursue their dreams, and overcome gender barriers.
What are your best sailing experiences?
As for my best sailing experiences, they are often linked to moments where I was able to push my limits, learn from the sea, and above all, share these moments with a close-knit team. Sailing is a demanding sport, but it provides an incomparable feeling of freedom and connection to nature.
What are your future plans, your dreams?

I plan to finish my diploma and continue to learn, share, and teach sailing. I would also like to participate in longer trips to discover new places and experience new adventures.
If you had to give advice to women who want to sail more, what would you tell them?
Finally, if I had to give advice to women who want to sail more, I would tell them to never underestimate themselves and to surround themselves with a community of female sailors who share the same aspirations. Dare to get started, train yourselves, and above all, don’t let anyone tell you that you’re not capable. The sea is a space of freedom, and it’s yours to make your mark in!
We wish Sabrina many wonderful experiences at Glénans!
